ResurFX™ by Lumenis®
Now at Radiance Skin Therapy
This FDA-approved device uses non-ablative fractional technology to improve fine lines, scarring, skin texture, skin tone, stretch marks, and promote collagen growth. ResurFX™ offers results with a comfortable treatment and minimal downtime.
What is ResurFX™ or “Non-ablative Laser Resurfacing”?
The ResurFX™ laser is the only true fractional non-ablative technology. Ablative lasers, such as CO2, “ablate” (which literally means to remove) the epidermis (top layer of skin) and require more downtime with added risk, and discomfort. Other resurfacing lasers, both ablative and non-ablative, typically treat only the epidermis or require several passes to obtain optimal results. So why is ResurFX™ different? ResurFX™ penetrates to the dermis while leaving the epidermis layer intact. With a single pass you are getting immediate and long term collagen building while correcting sun damage and redness, softening fine lines, reducing pore size and improving texture.
What is PhotoFractional?
This is a very popular combination of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), also known as “Photo”facial and ResurFX™, also called “fractional”. Together they are a PhotoFabulous™ combination providing improvements with pores, texture, sun damage, brown spots, redness, vascularity, fine lines & more! This is a staff & client favorite!

FAQs About ResurFX™
What can I expect during the treatment?
Prior to the ResurFX™ treatment, we can apply a topical anesthetic offering a very comfortable experience. Due to the non-ablative nature of the treatment, most patients find these treatments extremely comfortable. Treatments can take 20 minutes or more, depending on the size of the targeted area.
What can I expect after the treatment?
After ResurFX™ patients typically have minimal downtime. For a typical treatment, skin is minimally swollen for 1 to 2 days, and mildly red for 3-5 days. Patients do not peel after but the skin may feel slightly rough for about 1-2 weeks. Patients can resume mineral makeup application the day after. Sun exposure before and after the procedure should be avoided. A physical sunscreen with SPF of 30 or higher should be worn the days after the procedure and for long-term protection.
How many treatments are recommended with ResurFX™
ResurFX™ is often completed as a series of treatments. Typically, 4-6 treatments spaced a month apart is recommended. This will vary depending on the overall skin condition.
