Improve Your Skin with Collagen Induction Therapy in Madison, WI
Want to improve the texture of your skin, pore size, fine lines, pigment, scarring, and/or stretch marks? Microneedling at Madison, WI’s Radiance Skin Therapy & Laser Center is just the ticket for all of these skin issues! Safety and efficacy are a priority at Radiance Skin Therapy, and that is why we use the only FDA-approved microneedling device: SkinPen by Bellus Medical.
Microneedling (also known as “collagen induction therapy”) treatments are both corrective and preventative. SkinPen microneedling works to improve the appearance of fine lines, large pores, acne scars, melasma, and overall skin tone and texture. Targeting the skin’s dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ), 14 surgical-grade stainless steel needles make thousands of micro-punctures into the skin, creating a controlled wound. This injury causes your skin to release numerous growth factors that stimulate a healing response deep within the tissue. As a result, entirely new collagen and elastin are created, which thickens and resurfaces the skin over time. A topical numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to the procedure so you are as comfortable as possible. SkinPen microneedling is a desirable service for those looking for a low-downtime treatment with powerful results.
What Can Microneedling Correct?
This treatment is ideal for addressing wrinkles, acne and other scars, saggy skin, stretch marks, sun damage, skin discolorations, large pores, and uneven skin tone.
This non-ablative procedure is a choice treatment for scars, and the natural collagen it produces lasts for years, thickening and firming the skin. Microneedling is safe for all skin shades and types, and there is no social down time required after a treatment.

What Can I Expect the Day of My Microneedling Treatment in Madison, WI?
Before a microneedling session, we have you in for a consultation where we will get to know you, as well as your skin’s health, concerns, and goals. Then we will review and prepare you for your treatment date.
On the day of treatment, we review expectations and then proceed with some treatment preparation. Treatment prep includes applying a topical numbing cream for optimal client comfort. Once treatment begins, the procedure takes approximately 45 minutes depending on the area or areas being treated. Clients leave with their skin feeling dry, tight, warm, and with an overall pink or red tone. Some clients may experience a mild peeling/flaking for a couple days post treatment. Clients can resume normal activities the next day.
There are restrictions with product application and certain activities (saunas, hot yoga, etc.) for about a week after. The result is more than worth it! This is an incredible treatment that has so many skin health benefits! Ideally, a series of treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart is recommended to achieve the maximum cosmetic result. Radiance Skin Therapy & Laser Center is proud to have been performing Microneedling in Madison, WI for more than seven years!
To take your microneedling treatment to the next level and get an even better result, you may consider adding collagen induction therapy to your treatment. This is where plasma (rich in platelets) is injected into the skin. Its not only full of your own growth factors to help stimulate new collagen and elastin, it also helps with your skin’s healing process.
How Can I Maintain My Microneedling Results?
There are several things to consider when it comes to maintenance. You can start by using the home roller (see more information below). Topical Vitamin C products and applying SPF daily are also imperative. Consider your daily regimen and what you are doing currently to protect your collagen.
You should also consider having biannual or annual microneedling treatments. These are highly encouraged to maintain results and jumpstart the growth of even more new collagen.
Microdermabrasion is another option for anyone looking to have clear, radiant skin long term.
The Home Roller
Boost your results with Radiance’s signature at-home roller. While there are many devices out there that state they
are derma-rollers, these devices are not all created equal. We only sell the highest-grade surgical steel needles in our home rollers. This at-home microneedling device has shorter, smaller needles that create a mild exfoliation and direct pathway for your skincare products to be delivered exactly where they need to be to make a difference. Products are absorbed 200 times greater than topical application alone. Speak with your clinician and decide together what product would be best to pair with your home rolling device.
