Dermal and Lip Fillers for Lost Collagen

Choose from a Range of Volume-Adding Injectables in Madison, WI

A youthful look depends on having the right amount of facial balance. As we age, we naturally lose collagen, fat, muscle, and even bone in our face. That means gravity will take effect, and we may start noticing wrinkles, lines, hollowness, or jowls. In addition to losing volume in our face, we can also notice our lips thinning. Thinning lips can not only lead to noticeable volume loss, but can also alter the main source of support in our lower face. To address these changes due to diminishing tissues and collagen, Madison’s Radiance Skin Therapy & Laser Center uses injectable dermal fillers to smooth out creases and rebalance the face to help restore a natural look.

Tips to Consider for Your Dermal and Lip Filler Treatment in Madison

Managing Bruising and Swelling

At Radiance Skin Therapy, we value education and safety. We choose to implement these extra safety measures while doing our injectable dermal and lip filler services to ensure that your safety is at the forefront of our practices. Here are a few added safety measures taken at Radiance:

  • Accuvein: a device that uses vein illumination to help us locate and avoid veins, minimizing the chance of bruising during dermal and lip filler treatments
  • Clarius Handheld Ultrasound: a visual tool used to help recognize facial anatomy including skin, muscle, vessels, and fascia. This device also helps to locate filler placement to ensure vessel flow or in the case of needed dissolving.
  • Cannula: a blunt-tip tube (“needle”) used to minimize tissue trauma and bruising
  • Microcyn: a broad-spectrum anti-microbial spray that we use before, during, and after dermal and lip filler treatments
  • Closys Oral Rinse: used prior to any injections around the mouth or lips to kill germs and reduce bacteria
  • Silver Gel: an anti-microbial gel applied after treatment to prevent bacterial growth and promote healing
  • Hylenex: a solution always kept on hand in the small chance that we need to dissolve the dermal fillers
  • Aspiration: a technique of pulling back on the syringe plunger to be sure there is not a flash of blood, prompting re-positioning of the needle during dermal and lip filler treatments
  • Advanced Education: ongoing learning to provide our clients with the safest and best results

Information About Dermal and Lip Fillers at Radiance

RHA® Collection

RHA®Redensity, RHA® 2, RHA® 3, and RHA® 4 is a collection of injectable dermal fillers designed for dynamic wrinkles of the face.  Radiance Skin Therapy is excited to be the first and exclusive provider of  RHA® in Madison, WI.  The innovative hyaluronic acid filler collection is resilient enough to adapt to the movements of your face.   It’s adaptability allows us to offer natural looking results whether for smoothing fine lines around the mouth, improving the appearance of wrinkles, facial folds, under eye hollowness, enhancing the lips, adding lost volume in the cheeks, or defining your jawline or chin.  The results are long-lasting, with the effect typically remaining for six to twelve months. After receiving treatment, most people have very little downtime and are quickly able to return to normal activity.

Revanesse Versa

Versa is an injectable dermal filler which can improve the appearance of lines, facial folds, under eye hollowness, and enhance the lips.  Versa™ is another filler that Radiance is proud to bring to Madison as, currently, an exclusive provider.  Versa™ is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in all species which is highly attracted to water and has the ability to bind to it. The results are very natural, smooth, and long-lasting, with the effect typically remaining for six to twelve months. After receiving treatment, most people have very little downtime and are quickly able to return to normal activity.

Juvederm®

Juvederm® is a dermal and lip filler that can improve the appearance of lines, facial wrinkles, folds, and acne scars, enhance the lips, and contour facial features like the chin, cheeks, and jawlines, where collagen diminishes over time. This injectable is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in all species, which is highly attracted to water and has the ability to bind to it. The results are very natural and long lasting, with the effect typically remaining for six to 12 months. After receiving treatment, most people have very little downtime and are quickly able to return to normal activity.

Restylane®

Restylane® was the first dermal filler to be approved by the FDA, back in December of 2003. It is a hyaluronic acid that is used to soften facial wrinkles and folds. It will volumize and contour many areas of the face that have lost collagen. The results typically last six months or longer, with minimal downtime.

Juvederm® Volbella®

In June 2016, Volbella® was FDA approved to enhance lips and soften the appearance of lines around the mouth. Due to its Vycross Technology, Volbella® offers minimal swelling and can last up to 12 months.

Restylane® Refyne

Refyne is a next-generation hyaluronic dermal filler designed to help smooth lines and wrinkles in a natural-looking way. It’s great for nasolabial folds or marionette lines that develop as collagen diminishes, as well as fine lines around the mouth. The unique technology of gel in this dermal filler also supports natural expression, so when you smile or move, it naturally moves with you.

Juvederm® Vollure XC

Vollure XC joined the Juvederm® family of fillers and was FDA approved in March of 2017 for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds due to collagen loss. It is especially effective for nasolabial folds (parenthesis around the mouth area). Results can last up to 18 months with full correction.

Juvederm® VOLUX™ XC

Volux XC is the most recent injectable within the Juvederm® family of filler. It was FDA approved in August of 2022 for the improvement of jawline definition. This unique hyaluronic acid dermal filler is a robust gel that can define the jawline providing a more chiseled, sharp appearance.

Restylane® Defyne

Defyne is another next-generation hyaluronic filler designed to help support your skin. This filler is great for correcting areas with more dramatic collagen loss. The two areas where we see a nice change with Defyne are the nasolabial folds (running from the corner of nose down to the corner of the mouth) and marionette lines (from corner of the mouth down the chin). The unique cross-linking technology will also support natural expression, so it moves along with you when you smile or move.

Juvederm® Voluma®

Voluma® has been FDA approved since October of 2013. It is the first and only filler to temporarily correct age-related collagen and volume loss in the cheek area. It helps give a more youthful appearance to the face, with natural-looking, long-lasting results. The success of this product stems from the Vycross® technology that results in a smooth gel that contributes to the contour capacity, as well as the duration of the product. The gel contains a modified form of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural complex sugar that occurs within the body, making it a safe and effective filler. Results can last up to two years with full correction.

Restylane® Lyft®

Lyft®, formerly known as Perlane®, is a sister product to Restylane®. The difference between the two is simply the size of the particle. Lyft® contains larger particles of hyaluronic acid, which makes it ideal for filling deeper lines and wrinkles due to collagen loss. It will last six months or longer and has minimal downtime.

Sculptra Aesthetic®

Sculptra Aesthetic® is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. Sculptra Aesthetic® gives you subtle results over time by gradually replacing lost collagen, resulting in a more natural-looking appearance. It helps correct the shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that tend to appear with aging. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades. Sculptra Aesthetic® is usually done in a series of three treatments. It offers a natural progressive enhancement that occurs over three or more months. After a series of three, most people can expect to maintain their results with one single treatment per year.
