Internal Suspension Sutures for More Youthful Midface Contours in Madison, WI
Silhouette InstaLift™ at Madison’s Radiance Skin Therapy is not a filler—and it’s not your typical thread for lifting sagging tissue. Instead, the advanced treatment works to contour the face two ways: It lifts and holds lax layers of skin, as well as builds new collagen over time for a longer-lasting lift. Silhouette InstaLift™ was cleared by the FDA in 2015 and was awarded the prestigious 2018 New Beauty Magazine breakthrough award. It’s been popular in Europe and South America for years, and we’re so excited to have it available for our clients!
As a nonsurgical, minimally invasive lift, Silhouette InstaLift™ takes a short period of time to perform right in our office. The results are visible right away, and they will continue to improve over time, lasting up to two years. This treatment is not a “substitute” for a surgical facelift, but it is ideal for most men and women who want to combat signs of aging. This is a great way to get a fresh, rejuvenated look, and it complements many of our other services.
What Is Silhouette InstaLift™?
Silhouette InstaLift™ is an advanced dual-action micro-suspension treatment—the ONLY such option on the market that is a mixture of two products: poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA, also used in the biostimulator Sculptra®) and traditional absorbable vicryl suture material. The sutures are studded with cones that anchor them in deep layers of the skin, holding the tissue in a lifted, more youthful position.
The Silhouette InstaLift™ suture and its proprietary “knotted design” and bi-directional cones will slowly dissolve, stimulating creation of collagen. This protein serves as a “scaffold” in the skin, holding tissues up and providing a framework where hyaluronic acid can live. All of this promotes healthier tissue and can deliver a naturally enhanced glow.
How Is Silhouette InstaLift™ Different From a Traditional Threadlift?
Silhouette InstaLift™ is driven by entirely new technology. Rather than just repositioning the skin, as threads do, it focuses on the underlying layers, where downward shifting tissues create the sagging look of an aged face. Another important difference is that the sutures are not permanent. Instead, the body absorbs them over time, which also prompts natural collagen renewal.
The entire treatment takes a short period of time and does not involve any incisions or anesthesia.

Does Silhouette InstaLift™ Require Downtime?
Another major benefit of the Silhouette InstaLift™ is the lack of any major downtime after a session.
You may be swollen, red, or bruised following the treatment, but these side effects are common and should resolve on their own within a few days. In rare cases, it may take up to a few weeks. Though bruising is always a possibility, there are steps you can take to help minimize temporary discoloration, including avoiding alcohol and blood thinners for a week before the procedure.
Who Is a Candidate for Silhouette InstaLift™?
Silhouette InstaLift™ is for patients who want to address volume loss as well as skin laxity, but are not to the point where they want or need a surgical facelift. Women and men from their 30s to their 70s may be ideal candidates.
